Jeff Garcia is totally NOT gay

Totally NOT gay:::

No one will be confusing Jeff Garcia with Joe Montana, but he played a great game Monday night as the birds beat the panthers 27-24 Monday night. What were you expecting from Garcia this year after McNabb went down? Not much. But he had a stellar performance against a better than average Carolina defense - 300+ yds, 3 TDs, no turnovers. The line kept Peppers at bay, and since they couldn't run the ball (who can against that front 4?), they came up with a nice game plan for Jeff "I'm totally not GAY, look, my new hottie playmate girlfriend is kicking the shit out of my slightly-less-hot ex-girlfriend" Garcia and the offense. Will this continue? I doubt it, but there is still hope.

This is why:

Did I mention he is Canadian though? Perhaps bi-curious then...

Big Wholly ... CBB Style

Damn, I have been HOT in CBB lately. Went 3-1 last night with a couple unpopular plays. For those interested, I post over at Sports Degenerates...just try and guess who I am. Ha.

I am sitting at 21-10 on the young season, up more than a few $bucks$, now having cash to blow on stupid NFL plays.

Anyway, I am going to try and post my many observations of games I actually watch - I doubt it will be every day, but I hope to hit it up a couple times a week. I will include plays made, and I may even throw in some CFB and NFL plays, but mostly focus on CBB.

11/29 OSU @ UNC

This game certainly lived up to the hype, as both teams lit it up, 98-89. Watched most of the game, and damn, OSU can score. What was surprising was the fact that UNC kept going down by 6, 8, 10, but just kept coming back and staying in the game. Vitale must have stated 2 dozen times that Roy Williams wants the Heels to have 100 possesions a game - that is playing up-tempo for sure. I know OSU is really good, but this game speaks volumes to how good UNC is as well. I know they were at home, but as onslaught after onslaught kept pouring in on them from OSU, they hung around and ended up pulling away at the end. Careful though - if this game were any closer, all those missed free throws down the stretch coulda come back to hurt them.

Here are a few good threads we will be trying to keep up throughout the season:

Nothing doing...

I have very little to report, but feel I should post something since its been 3 weeks. I am still a slacker.

NFL: The Eagles lost, fuckers shat away a nice comeback. At least the deadskins lost to the winless Titans...at home...ahahahahahaha. Missed making any wagers on the NFL completely this week as I was on the road coming home from NJ.

In college football, PSU lost, but at least I won $$$ on Michigan (-5.5 I thought was a gift, but a 7 point win proved the line was right). Was up just a little after a nice big card on Saturday (9 total games for me, going 5-4).

A little baseball to look forward to tonight, as the Mets should beat up on the Cards - I don't trust Weaver to throw another great game...he is sitting on 2 in a row, and anyone who's watched him the past few years know what I'm talking about (re: time bomb). I couldn't play the Mets to win so I took the Mets TT (team total for all you non-degenerate gamblers) OVER 5. Lets go Mets! I hate them otherwise since I am a PHI phan.

Other than that, I have nothing to report. From all of us to all of you, go fuck yourself.

Phightin Phils at it again

Jeezus Crimany. The Phils tried everything within their power to blow that game last night against the Nats, but low and behold, the new power hitter for the team saved it in the 14th. While the old-school dick Frank "the tank" Robinson wouldn't pitch to Howard (3 IBBs), Rollins, Utley, Victorino, Nunez, and Coste saved the day. Conine had a great night going 0 fer 7. The suspect relief pitching was borderline disasterous, and held on to only blow 2 save chances; the defense was just as bad with 4 errors. Lost in all this was a solid start by Cole Hammels, who settled down nicely and looked strong after the 3rd inning. The Kruker was on Baseball Tonight as the game got into the late innings, and he said the Phils deserved to lose the game with the shoddy defense and lack of hitting with RISP - I couldn't have agreed more, which is why I was thankful we were playing the JV squad in the Washington Nationals!!!

And anyone watching the game on MASN has to agree that Nats announcers Bob Carpenter and Tom Paciorek absolutely suck. PBP guy Carpenter is not half bad, but Paciorek fucking blows. I can't count how many times he called Nats catcher Brian Schneider "Schneider-man," kissed Ryan Zimmerman's ass, and constantly complained that the Nats were getting whored on ball/strike calls. God I miss Harry Kalas. "...LONG drive, deep center field, this ball is OUTTA HERE!!! Grand-slam MICK-ey Morandini."

Philly, the 700 Level, and an old POS

Being a philly fan, and having such love-hate relationships with the Eagles and Phillies, I often frequent Enrico Campitelli's blog/website, The 700 Level. I guess he has also recently been hired (cool!) to do some bloggin on AOL Sport's Fanhouse, which has bloggers from all across the country (world maybe???...maybe not) doing stuff on their teams. Check his out here, cause for some reason (time permitting, or legal stipulations regarding proprietary material...it is AOL now) he does not post his AOL stuff on The 700 Level, and vice-versa.

AAANNNYYYWAY, I like his stuff, and to me, he is much like the typical Philly sports fan with his deep passion, support, and sometimes ability to criticize the teams. He is also much more than the typical fan due to his detailed observations, insight and analysis, and abilities to articulate them for all to see. So that is why I disagree 100% with this shitbag's assessment of his "live blogs" of the Eagles games. The shitbag's name is Frank Fitzpatrick from the Philly Inquirer, and the article just proves this guy is old, outdated, and more interested in talking shit on someone else rather than providing readers with insight, analysis, opinion, or whatever fat, old, outdated sportswriters actually write about these days. BTW, I love Enrico's rebutle - check it out at The 700 Level. And keep up the good work Enrico - its a great place for Philly phans to go, especially those who live away from "home" and can't soak up the atmosphere in person.

Damn I am a SLACKER...

M.S. - thanks for the kind words. I have been a complete slacker on this blog thing. I read a ton of blogs, yours included, and i thought, what a great idea...let's do a blog. Then I post 3 effin topics in 2 months and I am done...kinda like my fantasy baseball season, which I have termed "one and done." So with 3 here, I am ahead of the game I guess. Whatever gets me to sleep at night.

Actually, with CFB and NFL starting, I have been spending all my free time with fantasy and general degenerate gambling. "Spanning the globe to bring you a constant variety of sports...and losing hundreds of dollars in the process." Actually, I have been killing it in CFB, but blowing it in NFL. For some reason I love the dogs in the NFL this year, which is a big change from last year. And what happens??? All the big dogs go to shit, and I am on that shit train straight to shitsville. Again, thank god for CFB, where I think I sit at 22-7 on the young season. I post under Masterlock Jr. here, at SportsDegenerates, in case anyone gives a shit. Remember, tail the CFB plays, fade the NFL plays, and you will be gold Jerry, gold!

Flash & Trash in OC.

Got back from OC this weekend, and if anyone knows whats thats like, feel free to make fun of me to no end. Went down for a softball tourney (USSSA Men's 'E' Class Atlantic Coast Regional), so again, insert joke #2. We ended up 3-2, finishing in the top half. But that is not the news I wish to share. Rather, the debacle of a weekend I like to call Spring Break '06. Christ, it has been a while.

Got down Thursday night, and got T-RASHED!!! 4 games of Beer pong + 5-6 red bull & vodkas, + 321 bud lights = fucked up blackout state. I fell in love with Miss Piggy, and could almost fathom more incredible moments. Met hundreds of thousands of Russian chicks, and learned how to say "Take Your Shirt Off" in Russian. снимите вашу рубашку.

Played golf friday, shot 80 at Rum Pointe on a wicked hangover. I am particularly pleased because of my physical, mental, and emotional state, plus the 20+ knot wind on every hole. Got drunk that night, but not too much due to the 5 games were about to play on Saturday. Met IRENE STROKULVA, who my buddy is going to mail order when she gets back to mother russia and is officially on the market.

Saturday I was beat due to all the games, but since we didnt make it to Sunday, it was on!!! Sunday was my birthday, so... "I partied, like its my birthday, drank Bacardi, like its my birthday." Actually, I got a red bull & vodka bday present plus many, many shots, and convinced many fine young ladies to dance with and take suggestive pics with. THe hightlight was working out a way to to become a producer of documentaries, and my latest work is on a young man trying to get wasted for 30 straight days (ala Sperlock and Leaving Las Vegas).

Here's to OC baby. Flash and Trash during Spring Break '06.
